A Legacy of Faith since 1835

Our Church Story & Congregation

Rooted in a 190-year Legacy, Moving toward Holistic Salvation.

Our Heritage

The Methodist Church of Fiji and Rotuma is a pillar of our nation's social power structure, working in harmony with the Vanua (chiefly system) to provide stability and spiritual guidance.

The Nabalebale Methodist church circuit is one of 9 Methodist church circuits in the Methodist Division of Wailevu. We are located in Nabalebale village, Wailevu Cakaudrove. After detaching from our old circuit, the Buca Methodist church circuit, our new circuit or Tabacakacaka was formally established in January 2004 upon resolution in the 2003 Annual Methodist Church conference.

The Buca Methodist Church circuit, including Nabalebale, wins the Class 3 Choir category at the Methodist Choir Competition during the 1994 Annual Methodist Conference in Bua.

Nabalebale detaches from the Buca Circuit to form the Nabalebale Methodist Church under resolution of the 2003 MCIF Annual Conference. Rev. Viliame Korowaqa is appointed as the first circuit minister.

Unified in Diversity

Following the example of the 1892 Indian Mission, the Nabalebale Circuit is committed to inclusivity. We believe the Gospel is for all ethnic and religious communities, and we strive to be a welcoming home for everyone in Cakaudrove, regardless of their background. E na loloma vaka-Kalou, eda na duavata kina. — In God's love, we are one.

Digital Archive Project

As part of our national strategic goal for Communication & Data Management, we are building a digital archive of our circuit's history. We are preserving photos, stories, and records of our past ministers and congregation members.

This project ensures that the "New Exodus" of our church is documented for future generations, blending our rich history with modern technology.

Preserving Our Story

Help us build our history. If you have old photos or stories of Nabalebale Church, please contact us to have them digitized.
